ABOUT US
Our beautiful Centre is divided between 3 rooms each focused on the particular stage of development of your child. Each room is led by experienced supervisors who ensure that your child receives the best possible care and education that we can provide.
Magic Garden follows Te Whāriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, we are strongly influenced by the philosophy and practices of Reggio Emilia and the practices of Magda Gerber/RIE. These approaches support the valuing of relationships, the use of collaboration, having the environment as the third teacher, encouraging parental involvement, maintaining documentation of children’s learning, having an emergent curriculum, and encouraging the child as a self-initiated learner.

We’re Paul and Jo, the proud owners of Magic Garden since November 2020. With backgrounds in finance, marketing, market research and education, we were inspired to create a nurturing space in the community for our son Jamie, who is autistic and intellectually disabled. Jo retrained as a teacher, and it’s our vision that Jamie will one day have a meaningful role here, surrounded by acceptance and joy. Magic Garden is more than a business to us — it’s a place where children, families, and teachers thrive together. We’re continually inspired by the heart, dedication, and talent of our teaching team.
